My name is Darrell Mirsky, and I am the owner of Mirsky Electric. I emigrated from South Africa to the United States in 1990 in search of better life and career opportunities. In 1995, upon completing a four-year electrical apprenticeship in South Florida, I chose to move away from the heat and humidity and landed in Seattle. In 1997, after "serving my time" working for local electrical contractors, I passed my Master Electrician’s license, and decided to set out on my own. Armed with a service van, tools of the trade, and lots of enthusiasm, I started my company, which I called Action Electrical Services. It was tough getting started at first, but I persevered, and slowly the company began to grow. As word spread, I needed to find a way to further distinguish my company from the competition. In 2004, I changed the company name to Mirsky Electric to demonstrate to our clients that we stood behind our name. In order to maintain our reputation, I hired only the industry’s best electricians — those who would provide consistent high-quality services to our customers.
Today I live in Montlake with my wife, Jessica, a Seattle native and Starbucks employee, and our three children. When I’m not chasing my twin sons, I’m trying to imbue my daughter with my passion for golf and Liverpool Football Club.
